ON REPEAT: PORTUGAL. THE MAN

An American band based in Portland, Oregon, Portugal. The Man is my best discovery lately. Psychedelic rock sounds blend with free-spirited acoustics for an ethereal sound perfect for summer, reminiscent of beach bonfires and late-night top-down spins in a convertible. The band's new album, set to drop on June 4, is produced by Danger Mouse aka Brian Joseph Burton, who forms one half of Broken Bells (with The Shins James Mercer) and has worked with Jay-Z, The Black Keys, the Gorillaz, U2, Norah Jones and Beck. Evil Friends can be pre-ordered here and given the undeniable addictiveness of Purple Yellow Red and Blue, the album is sure to create waves. 

(PS. It doesn't hurt that John Gourley is stupidly attractive.)
